Simple vegy nachos made with multigrain tortilla chips, cheese and your own choice of toppings.
Just lay out the chips and toppings and less than a minute in the microwave you have a hot tasty treat.
Start with the chips:
Start to eat after the microwave:
Style refers to the major characteristic or components of the nachos.
Vegetarian style indicates that no meat is used as a topping.
Shape describes the tortilla chips - I used round in this example - there are triangle and square.
Mexican style indicates real corn chips, beans, chili peppers or jalapeƱos with salsa, guacamole dips.
When the chips overflow with toppings they are described as loaded. These nachos are light.
Assembly of the nachos starts with the chip layout. I cover the entire plate with whole chips then use the broken chips to cover the spaces left open by the round shape. I then spread the cut sweet peppers, olives and tomatoes so that there is something on every chip. You can also add mushrooms, onions jalapeƱos, beans and others - your preference may vary. There are several types of cheese that can be used. I use shredded mozzarella. You can use a spicy Monterey Jack to add some kick.
This is considered a snack food or a treat and not a meal.
