Buying Fruits and Vegetables

Buying fruits and vegetables is very easy and convenient in most Canadian cities that are not isolated or in the extreme northern regions.

My average weekly fruits and vegetable shopping looks like this :

Pictured vegetables include: tomato, celery and avocado.

Pictured fruits include: bananas, green grapes, cantaloupe, apples, oranges, kiwi and peaches.

Local or domestic means they were grown in Canada.

Imports means that they were grown outside of Canada and transported into Canada.

Hot house usually means that they were grown in a greenhouse.

Organic usually means that artificial pesticides or fertilizers were not used.
