This is a very simple peanut butter and banana sandwich.
I toast the bread - cover the two inside faces with peanut butter - slice and place the banana pieces - put the two pieces together to finish making my sandwich.
Some like to slice the banana into round medallions and some slice it length ways - I show both.
The real challenge is to determine what you actually ate in the bread and peanut butter.
My best guess is that I used 1 tablespoon for each of the 4 slices of toasted bread.
I ate 4 times 90 calories to total 360 calories. My salt intake was 4 times 35 mg to total 140 mg.
The bread contains 105 calories per slice to total 420 calories, sodium totals 620 mg and there are 16 additional added vitamins and minerals.
If your diet is 2,000 calories per day this is 780 or 39%
If your recommended salt intake is 2,000 mg this is 38%
Athletes can burn 5,000 calories in a day, many desk bound workers burn 1,200 in a day.
Salt is needed by the body every day for metabolic functions however too much is a problem for many as it causes water retention and/or high blood pressure.
You have to determine what you own individual calorie requirements are to either stay the same, lose some weight or gain some weight.
Yes the banana contains about 100 calories and is a great source of potassium, contains fiber, vitamins C, B6, and inflammation-fighting antioxidants.
Want an alternative to bananas but do not like jam - try sliced strawberries.
The bread is a Bavarian Multigrain by Rubschlager a 100 year old Chicago bakery.
